Yoga

Acceptance of where your body is physically, mentally, and emotionally in space is the hallmark of yoga practice. A spiritual discipline focused on uniting the mind and body, expressed through physical postures and moving meditation. Our approach to yoga is less about what a posture looks like, and more about what it feels like — focusing on sensation over aesthetics. Bodies arrive in all shapes, sizes, and abilities, so forgoing the traditional discipline for a more fluid expression of the practice is not only more sustainable, but therapeutic. Yoga sessions can be done one-on-one, or in small or large groups.

The Journey

Approach

Ashtanga Vinyasa is a dynamic form of classical Yoga, energetically synchronizing breath and movement. We are not stuck on the traditional, often strict, Vinyasa rules. There is space here for the unique bodies and experiences that enter this practice, meeting individuals where they are so that they may be guided in the most sustainable and supportive way possible.

Sessions

The beauty is in the lack of structure of yoga sessions. While there is most benefit from consistent practice, yoga is also about acceptance of the present moment, your present body. Yoga sessions (60-75 minutes) can be done one-on-one or in small or large groups, at a frequency and skill level that is as desired or needed. These sessions will have a continuous flow of movement, united with breath, to create a moving meditation through body awareness. Larger Yoga events are also hosted by us.

Results

Development of a deep sense of authentic self, and an increased capacity to use movement as medicine for the mind and body. Harnessing a nourishing practice, one that is aligned with your individual body, one without ego, provides the opportunity to focus on the self and turn inward for an individualized movement-based, meditation experience.
